Institute for Welcoming Resources |
| |
|
Denominational representatives of the
Welcoming Church Movement created IWR in November 2002. The purpose of
this ecumenical group is to provide the resources to facilitate a
paradigm shift in multiple denominations whereby churches become
welcoming and affirming of all congregants regardless of sexual
orientation and gender identity. IWR wants to help build church homes
that are truly welcoming and nurturing, where everyone knows “they're
okay, just like they are.” In early 2006, IWR became a program of
the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, through a formal merger. |

Roger Williams Fellowship |
| |
|
|
| The Roger Williams
Fellowship was founded in 1935 out of a need for a forum within the
Northern Baptist Convention (at that time) where a variety of social and
faith issues could be discussed with respect for diverse
theological perspectives. The Fellowship welcomes laity and clergy of
diverse backgrounds and perspectives who seek to discuss, study, and
struggle with questions of conscience. The context of our mutual
discernment is the exercise and pursuit of religious freedom. |
